I was hit hard between the eyes the other day after viewing a photograph of a soldier kissing his little girl goodbye as he headed off to the middle east to serve our country. The sacrifices of the men and women who serve in the various branches of the military sacrifice so very much.
But they are not the only ones who sacrifice. The ones left behind miss out as well. The wife or husband. The mother and father. The brother and sister. The girlfriend or boyfriend. The children.
All are sacrificing. There may be 50,000 troops in a part of the world, but there are numerous others who also are involved in another battle. It often is said that those who "wait" or who "stand by" have a more difficult time than those engaged in the actual battle.
I know I've written about this before but the words "thank you" are never heard enough.
Thank you to those who serve in the battles and to those who wait at home. May you be reunited soon!
