Maintaining perspective is important at all times, especially when life presents challenges. In my research on leadership for my current graduate class, keeping one's eyes on the target is essential for stability and clear direction when life throws you a curve ball. Here are some verses from scripture to which you may anchor your life when the seas billow.
Psalm 11:4-7 "The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men, his eyes examine them...upright men will see his face"
Psalm 10:17-18 "You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more."
Psalm 16:7-8 "I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me, because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken."
Psalm 18:2 "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn or my salvation, my stronghold."
Psalm 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want."
Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 28:6-7 "Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song."
On what other promises of God do you anchor your soul?
